Ubuntu Studio 8.10 Installation...USB Pen Drive. Help?
OK, I am building a Shuttle K45 HTPC set up. These boes are great, but they do not have a DVD. I have my complete collection of non-English, non-Region 1 anime on external HDDs, as well as foreign films and music. (When I say "a lot", I mean about 3Tb)
I want to load Ubuntu Studio 8.10 to make it a Linux-based media unit. I do not need HDMI. Anyway. this system only comes on an .ISO, so, How can I load the install onto an 8Gb USB Pen Drive for loading it onto the internal HDD? Help please.
g2: Thanks...I am going to try that. I don't speak LINUX very well yet...25 years of Microsoft OS, since I first saw UNIX on a DEC-10.
i've actually gotten backtrack 3 to mount on my usb drive.
you aren't necessarily FLASHING your drive, but creating a boot disk so to speak.

you might wanna follow something like that to make 8.1 bootable, and then bring Studio on your pen drive where you can access both the OS and the application.
